Wasted $6000 Before Finding FinestShops
I’ve been with FinestShops for about a year now. Previously, I was with Yahoo! Shopping which was not customizable enough for my needs. About a year before making the switch to FinestShops, I tried to switch to another platform with disastrous results. I spent almost $6000 and a year of painstaking labor and “training” trying to learn their system and working with the developers to get my store working and looking the way I wanted. Finally, I just gave up on it and decided that even though Yahoo! wasn’t the best, at least they weren’t the worst! Eventually, I couldn’t stand it anymore and I started shopping around again, still a little apprehensive because of my previous experience.

Two things really sold me on FinestShops:

1) Try before you buy… The other company I had worked with charged me up-front for transferring my store from Yahoo!, for the design work and for the customizations. Then, about two months into the process, they told me that they would need MORE money because the transfer from Yahoo! wasn’t going as expected. FinestShops gave me 30 days to MAKE SURE their product would meet my needs and the transfer would go smoothly.

2) Every pre-sale question I had was answered quickly, courteously and completely. I was given honest price quotes for every customization I requested and I was never charged more later because “things didn’t go as expected.” I was also considering MonsterCommerce at the same time and asking the same questions. While MonsterCommerce was also quick with their answers, they weren’t always as complete and I sometimes felt like they were just shooting off an email to hurry and get it over with.

Anyway, once I made the decision to go with FinestShops, I knew I had made the right choice within the first 30 days. My store was up and running within a couple of months with all the customizations I needed (and they weren’t easy). My entire catalog was fully imported from Yahoo! Shopping without any of the quirks I had experienced previously. And it all cost me less than $1000 as opposed to the $6000 and a year of my time with the previous company.
